About

Islam on My Side is an ongoing online anthology of Muslim voices post 9/11. This site is a forum for the Muslim experience in America and abroad for those affected, unaffected, certain and uncertain. Here is a place we can come together and discuss life as we know it, in a world suddenly acutely aware of our existence while at the same time ignorant, ready to judge us by our uniformly brown skin, the hair on our faces, the scarves on our heads,  and our hateful faith.

But that is not the whole story. Through the events of 9/11 we have learned to judge each other, but more importantly, we have found our own voices and have learned to judge ourselves. We can now stand up, make ourselves known for our weakenesses, our diversity, and most importantly, our strengths. We are a many Muslims, but we are one Ummah. This is Islam for all of us. Please tell us what Islam is like on your side.
