Salaam Moazzam,

I absolutely agree, and insha'Allah Muslims of all types will submit their stories for this collection. It's about time we showed a true representation of the diversity in our community. I hope you will consider submitting and that you will pass the invitation along!

Sincerest wishes,

Shawna

It is a good idea as long as the project is open-minded and doesn't restrict the definition of what it means to be a Muslim.

Salaam :)

This is such an excellent idea! The prejudice and discrimination towards Muslims in America after 9/11 is one of the most important and least discussed issues in contemporary times, and it's really great to see other fellow Muslims who acknowledge that.

I recently wrote a 21 page research paper for my applied social psychology class last semester about the experiences of Muslim-Americans in the post 9/11 era. I was required to discuss two psychological research studies that were related to my topic and also present a personal experience. Would you find this appropriate for something that you're looking for? If so, let me know and I can e-mail it to you. I can always chop it down or edit it so that it qualifies to fit what you're looking for. Take care and salaam!
